An event will be held Friday evening to help the Doddridge County Spay and Neuter Program.
The "Christmas for the Critters" event will offer wine, coffee, and tea tasting.
The event is sponsored by the Second Wind Adoption Program.
The proceeds will go to help animals that need to be spayed and neutered.
Jean Kruse started the Doddridge County Spay and Neuter program and transports any animal that needs spayed or neutered to a low cost facility in Cabell County.
She said that she transports the animals about once a month, and that she knows it helps the animals.
"When I get back I've usually done at least 30 animals that day. I can count the animals that will not be born into a world of neglect and abuse, and maybe animals that would have faced euthanasia," Kruse said.
Kruse will pick the animals up from anywhere in Doddridge County that needs the service.
The spay and neutering is done at a reasonable price and includes a rabies shot.
The "Christmas for the Critters" event will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to the program.
It's going on from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday night and is located two miles down Jockey Camp Road.
