The Morgantown Police Department has arrested a Clarksburg man and charged him with wanton endangerment, malicious assault, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A woman told police that Dallion Corbet Lewis, 26, choke slammed her, struck her in the face, and hit her in the head with a chair, according to a criminal complaint. The woman said she was able to leave the house at one point but that Lewis forced her back into the house by pulling her hair. Once inside the residence, the woman told police that Lewis tied and gagged her before putting a gun in her mouth, advising that he would kill her. Police said the woman's injuries were consistent with the information that she provided.

Witnesses told police that they saw Lewis step outside the house and fire a round from the gun. Lewis fled from the scene but was arrested by police about half of a mile away from the residence, according to a criminal complaint.

Lewis is prohibited from possessing a firearm following a first degree robbery conviction in Dec. 2007.

Lewis is being held in North Central Regional Jail on $60,000 bail.
