Route 50 near the intersection with Fire Access Road in Harrison County has been reopened, according to West Virginia 511.
West Virginia State Police Cpl. Waggamon said Harold Edward Smith, 58 of Reynoldsville, driving the white SUV, has died and his passenger, Shirley L. Thompson, 58 of Reynoldsville, was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital. Her condition is critical.
Sean Jenkins, 36 of Bristol, Tenn., driving the truck didn't suffer from any major injuries.
Cpl. Waggamon said Jenkins was trying to cross Rt. 50 and Smith's SUV pulled out in front of him, hitting the truck in a t-bone style crash.
West Virginia State Police responded to the scene of a crash on Route 50 near the intersection with Fire Access Road in Harrison County just before 5 p.m. Tuesday. State police said a SUV crashed into a truck in a t-bone style collision.
Two people in the SUV were transported to an area hospital. The driver of the truck's condition is currently unknown.
Two westbound lanes were closed following the crash, according to West Virginia 511. The Reynoldsville Fire Department, Harrison County EMS, and Stonewood Fire Department also responded to the scene.
