Buckhannon's Chamber of Commerce continues its commitment to making a difference.
First a strong membership, then a new logo, and now a new website. The chamber's last website was created in 2006. The chamber felt it was time for a fresh look.
The Buckhannon Upshur Chamber of Commerce warmly welcomes all visitors and residents to stop by its new location at 14 East Main Street. Now its continuing that small town charm with a newly designed website.
"We wanted something very simple, and easy to use easy to navigate that we could manage ourselves from the office," said Tammy Reger, executive director.
Several photos are located on the website. When you click on each of them, they'll navigate you to up-to-date information on that event and Buckhannon or Upshur County. Another feature is a downtown map that helps you guide yourself around town.
"You can print it off if your visiting the area. It will show you where all the local stores, restaurants are located. We also we have our fact book you can print that off online right now," said Reger.
The chamber offers a membership page where you can print an application. Reger said a special feature allows members to pay their dues online with Paypal.
"It's a great feature and a big help to business owners. Not only that its so easy to navigate where the other one was a little bit difficult."
Reger said a local web design company worked on the site, but Reger said they'll be able update the site themselves on a regular basis.
"It's going to be a great benefit for the chamber because we're constently adding new members, and we want to post events or specials that the members are having so it will be great that we can do it from the office here."
The chamber also features an events calendar that will be updated regularly.
