West Virginia's Jazz Society is planning several events this holiday season.
Jazz Night at the Museum is scheduled from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Museum of American Glass in Weston. In addition to the music, it will feature "The Golden Age of Glass," a collection of finely decorated art glass produced from the 1920s until the 1960s.
"We wanted to present our exhibit of the fine art glass together with music from the same time period," said Dave Bush, museum board member.
Admission will be a $20 donation to the museum located on Main Street in Weston.
Clarksburg Uptown will be hosting a holiday jazz stroll from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 20 with more than 20 jazz artists at multiple venues with no cover charge. Performers will include Clarksburg native Karen Greene, now based in Atlanta, Nicki Parrott, a Broadway and cabaret singer and the Jenny Wilson Trio.
"One of the things we enjoy most about what we do is having our local artists work with the professionals from around the country," said Rose Ann Policano, vice president of the Jazz Society.
Winter Jazz Weekend 5 is set Jan. 24-25 in the Bridgeport Conference Center at Charles Pointe.
Osmosis, a progressive jazz quintet from Elkins, will perform with saxophonist Marshall Keys on Jan. 24. The James Moore Sextet will appear with saxophonist Noah Preminger of New York City on Jan. 25.
