There have been a lot of changes at the North Central West Virginia Airport lately.
In addition to the new flights to Orlando and back there is also a new waiting area for the people on those flights.
After passengers go through security they can sit in the new area that has comfy seating, a bar, and a snack counter that will be run by Roberto's Restaurant.
"It used to be an office space for four people and we thought it would be better utilized as something bigger so we added on and made it a lot bigger and nicer, added a bar and a restroom. It was a $450,000 project and we thought it was a great project," said Butch Tennant, the vice-president of the Benedum Airport Authority.
Airport Director Rick Rock said that the flights to and from Orlando through Allegiant Air have been doing very well.
Rock said that the airport is exceeding Allegiant's goals for it and that the flights have been full almost every time.
He said now the airport is looking to future opportunities.
"We want to really think the sky is the limit. We have a great partner Allegiant. They fly to Tampa, to Ft. Lauderdale, and Mrytle Beach and any where else we're pretty aggressive and we want to see this airport grow and provide great air service to the communities we serve," explained Rock.
