    The West Virginia Child Advocacy Network and West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence are getting help from Verizon's HopeLine program to help those affected by domestic violence and child abuse.

ATHENS, WV -

Concord University and the Robert C. Byrd Institute are hosting a workshop to educate Mercer County about business growth and opportunities in southern West Virginia.  The workshop will explain how the 3rd District Accelerator grant can help people who have businesses or business ideas reach their goals.

The event will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Mercer County Technical Education Center in Princeton, WV, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.  A question and answer period will follow.
Concord University, Marshall University, the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI), the Natural Capital Investment Fund and TechConnect West Virginia are collaborating to target and empower entrepreneurs in tourism and advanced manufacturing across southern West Virginia.
The 3rd District Accelerator provides integrated business support efforts and technical assistance, including grantsmanship workshops, training and workforce development, e-business marketing and entrepreneurial support, and advanced manufacturing tools/capabilities.
During the workshop, Concord will present information on tourism and small business development as well as investment opportunities in Hatfield-McCoy Country. RCBI will be offering information about additive manufacturing and 3D printing.
Small business owners, entrepreneurs and those interested in more information are encouraged to attend the workshop to learn how the 3rd District Accelerator grant can help them realize their small business goals.
The Third District Accelerator is funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Appalachian Regional Commission.
