On Tuesday, owners of Spectrum Radio Group received a warm welcome in Morgantown. The West Virginia University Dance team was also on hand to give the group a Mountaineer welcome.
Spectrum Radio Group has purchased four local stations WRLF, WZST, WTCS and WMMN. The group said they hold an interest in the Morgantown area because of WVU and Fairmont State University both being college towns and they're also not far from the group's corporate area of Maryland and Virginia.
Bob Woodward, group partner, said they're glad to be able to add these four stations into their media group.
"I think we've been welcomed very well and we support live and local business and we are going to be live and local in our own programming. So we are excited about being here and look forward to working with the business community and really being a part of the whole growth area here," said Woodward.
Woodward said he hoped to be able to add to the cluster of radio stations in the near future and to be able to appeal to any local or traveling listener through the area. The four stations were owned by the Fantasia family before this sale.
