Philip Barbour senior Luke Freeman will continue his golf career down the road at Alderson Broaddus.
Freeman signed his national letter of intent on Monday at Philip Barbour High School.
He said the thought of coming in and competing for a second-year program at Alderson Broaddus was the deciding factor.
Freeman averaged an 81 throughout his senior season for the Colts. The Philip Barbour boys golf program was knocked out in regional play, falling short by a single stroke of advancing to the state tournament in Wheeling.
He said becoming a Battler was an easy decision.
"Ever since the school added men's golf, I've really been anticipating the chance to be able to play there. I've been going to basketball games there ever since I was growing up. It was just an easy choice for me. It's just a good opportunity to be able to play there," Freeman said.
