The McNair Scholars group at West Virginia University is doing what it can to help the victims of the typhoon that recently devastated the Philippines.
Monday, November 18 was the first day students collected money for the American Red Cross Dollars for Disaster Project.
The McNair Scholars Program is for disadvantaged students who want to get their masters degree.
"McNair is very service oriented so we're all about helping those in need. And Project Philippines is a very important disaster. It was a huge, huge storm so we just want to do anything we can to help," said Jasmine Koech, a WVU McNair Scholar.
The booth will be set up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 and Wednesday, Nov. 20 in the Mountainlair.
