Hospitals and first responders in Monongalia County participated in a mass casualty mock disaster Wednesday.
Volunteers were outfitted as patients with injuries like broken bones and gunshot wounds.
JH Consulting organized the scenario.
The activity tested the hospital's plans in case of a real emergency.
"Plans are great, but our plans aren't worth a lot if we don't have to implement them. So these exercise give everyone a chance to do the planning, make the connections and relations ships and then act it all out and see if it goes as well as they thought it would. And that gives you an opportunity to say here's where we can improvements and we can do that," said Jeffrey Harvey, of JH Consulting.
MECCA 911, WVU Police, Mon County EMS, Ruby Memorial Hospital, Mon General Hospital and Health South all participated.
