2012-13 Record: 10-16
Salem International enters the year excited to begin a new adventure in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
A year ago, the Tigers went 1-4 against G-MAC opponents, averaged 76.5 points per game, while going 7-4 at home.
The preseason coach's poll selected the Tigers to finish 7th in the conference.
Through two games this season, Salem Head Coach Randy Unger's team is 2-0 and has scored 218 points. Last year the Tigers led all of NCAA Division-II men's basketball in steals and enters 2013 determined to build off last year's success.
"We got a lot of good players; a lot of returnees. We're finally getting it. Last year was a rebuilding year this year we're getting it," Salem senior Darius Roper said.
"We expect effort every night, attention to detail, and expect our kids to entertain our fans. We're looking forward to getting this place packed, and that comes with people knowing they're going to come and watch kids that are playing unselfish and playing hard every night, and that's what we're trying to instill on our team right now," Unger said.
