Pierpont Community and Technical College and the Robert C Byrd National Aerospace Education Center held a graduation Friday afternoon.
The graduation ceremony for its Aircraft Structures Training Program was held at the North Central West Virginia Airport.
There were 10 graduates from the fall 2013 class.
The Aircraft Structures Training Program is an eight-week course that taught the students the ins and outs of aircraft assembly.
Some graduates went through the program to get certified in other fields.
"I enjoyed learning different techniques on drilling and riveting with different fasteners and different techniques on how to do so. I took this class to fulfill the hours needed for me to be able to be eligible for my airframe and power plant certification," explained Brian Kelly, a graduate of the Aircraft Structures Training Program from Greenbrier County.
The next aircraft structures training program begins in January and the cut off date to apply is in December.
There are no age restrictions for the course, and a mechanical background is not required.
Program directors said they hope to get more females into the course.
This was only the second graduating class from the program.
