Halloween is just around the corner and people got into the spirit at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum Saturday for a ball and the scare of a lifetime.
Owners of TALA said October is always a big month for the asylum. It offers a haunted house, flashlight tour and fall festival for its visitors.
Last year, the asylum brought in about 25,000 people for the Halloween season and they wanted to top that this year.
"Well tonight we're basically having a fantastic time huge costume party in the oldest part of the facility. We've got several wards open for folks to check out tonight one ward that's open for people to ghost hunt," said owner Rebecca Jordan Gelason.
Gleason said the money raised will go toward the restoration of the center section of the asylum, as well as completing the second floor restoration.
