While many people were scraping by during the government shutdown, some area counties barely felt a thing.
The Lewis County Commission said although they were worried, the shutdown never affected grants and other sources of funding from the federal government.
Commission said Pat Boyle said it was relief when the government finally reopened last week.
"County budgets are set a year ahead of time, and we have certain things that we plan on, and when some things like this comes up that we're not planned on, it takes away from something else for us," Boyle said.
Commissioners also accepted multiple grants to support other organizations in Lewis County during their meeting.
