A Harrison County community pulled together for a benefit dinner on Sunday to remember and honor South Harrison High School football player Dylan Jeffries.
A spaghetti dinner was held to raise funds to help the Jeffries family with their expenses.
People who attended the dinner could enjoy a meal and enjoy a live band. Volunteers said there have been many donations from many people and businesses and agencies. There was even a raffle for a shot gun and some primitive items.
"The out pour, the volunteers it was great. The community just came together. Like I said it was for Dylan, Dylan has brought us so much joy, so we want to do something really good for the Jeffries family," said family friend Sonya Davis.
"There has been a good bit of people here and this has brought the community a lot closer than what it has, and that it shows that it doesn't matter what happens that a small community like this can have a big heart," said South Harrison High School football player Johnathon Basham.
Volunteers said that their not stopping with the dinner. They also said there would be other events coming up in honor of Dylan Jeffries to help his family.
If you have any ideas or would like to help and donate to the Jeffries, family friend Sonya Davis said you could contact her through her facebook page.
