Fairmont General Hospital employees said more than 200 people attended Women's Health Awareness Day on Friday.
Starting in 2001, women have been writing their names on pieces of cloth. Now they are all being pieced together into a quilt.
There was also a presentation of two pink quilts from Warriors in Pink, which is Ford Motor Company's effort to raise awareness and fight breast cancer.
"People were very inspired and very touched by the messages that were on the quilts. there was one panel that very simply said 'men too' which reminds us that men get breast cancer as well," said Tricia Julian, Oncology Event Program Coordinator.
The quilts will hang at the hospital once they are complete.
