Hilton Garden Inns around the world participated in a global community service project Sunday.
The location in Morgantown, as well as employees from the Clarksburg location, invited foster kids from Burlington United Methodist Family Services for an event at the hotel in Suncrest Town Center.
There was picnic style food, games and kids activities. There was carnival games and even a pinata.
"We decided to invite the kids out today have a picnic style lunch for them, and also have some carnival games for them to play," said Kristina Garret from Hilton Garden Inn in Morgantown. "We've also went out and collected from area individuals and businesses to get donations of bags for the kids. Anything from backpacks, duffel bags, gym bags to small luggage. That way they will have something they can call their own."
There were around 20 kids that are in foster care at the event. They each got a bag donated from local residents, organizations and businesses including The Shack Neighborhood House, and Journey's at the Morgantown Mall.
