Many people will be joining the fight against breast cancer this month, but a local hospital is also working for a cure to another disease.
Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston will be holding Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Walk.
The event helps raise money to find a cure for the disease, which affects even young children, and can be fatal at an early age.
The walk will be held on the new trail on Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital's campus.
Organizers said thanks to events like these, doctors have made progress in treating the disease.
"I think with cystic fibrosis, too, people are living a lot longer. And I think they're living a lot longer because of people's dedications to the walk to raise money for research for treatment," said Diana Ocheltree, of Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital.
If you'd like to participate in the walk, you can contact Ocheltree for more information at 304 269 8094.
