The Greater Fairmont Council of Churches will host the inaugural Emergency Preparedness Expo Saturday, October 12.
The expo will feature displays and instructions in 72-hour preparedness, water purification, food storage, and sanitation.
The Marion County Health Department will provide $25 flu shots, unless you have Medicaid or PEIA, and there will be more than 30 informational booths with tips on getting prepared.
"If you go away with anything out of this at least, it may not change you entirely, but it would help you get a start. you could perhaps learn about the 72-hour preparedness kits so you could help sustain yourself until help could get to you in a time of disasters," said Mary Jane Soles, organizer.
The Emergency Preparedness Expo will hold at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Meadowdale.
That will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
