A group of local brewers came out for a good cause Saturday afternoon in Fairmont.
The Fairmont Homebrewers Club hosted its first Homebrewers Against Hunger event at the Fairmont Field Club.
Guests could sample brews made by Fairmont area residents, and enter raffles for other prizes as well.
Proceeds from the event will go to support the Connecting Link and Marion County Senior Citizens Center.
Organizers said the event is a great way to share what they enjoy, and give back at the same time.
"We don't just sit around and drink all the time. We're also trying to help out and do something good for the community, because we really care about it. We were looking for a creative outlet to get ourselves out there and get out what we do to people, and this is, it's perfect," said event organizer Joshua Clarke.
Clarke said the event had already raised hundreds of dollars halfway through the afternoon.
