The Harrison County YMCA was showing off its renovated pool Friday.
Representatives from the City of Clarksburg, Y staff, and donors were all on hand for the ribbon cutting event.
Improvements include poolside bleachers, a new air system, and a brand new scoreboard.
Executive Director Pat McGahan said the new improvements will be noticed across the community.
"It's just not the one area, it's the whole thing. It's for the water aerobics, the swim lessons, and for all the community when they come in for free swim. It's all for them, as well as for the swim team," McGahan said.
The new pool will hold its first big meet this weekend, as the Y hosts the Clarksburg Classic on Sunday.
McGahan also credited volunteers from the community for helping to make the new work a reality. Those volunteers included parents of kids on the Y swim team, and other area businesses that donated money to support those improvements.
Harry Green Chevrolet also donated a significant amount to the project.
The Y has renamed the new facility after Green.
