White Hall is an area that just keeps growing and growing. On Monday night, it got a little bigger.
At the White Hall Town Council meeting on Monday, Cloverdale Heights, a housing development, was on the agenda to be annexed into White Hall.
The area is located very close to the town limits and residents said they've wanted to be part of White Hall for a while.
Council voted 6-1 in favor of the annexation. White Hall Mayor Guy Ward said the Cloverdale Heights residents are a welcomed addition to the town.
"Cloverdale Heights has been wanting to come into town for several years now. They're just right next to us and right behind the town hall so it would be real convenient for them and for the town," said Ward.
By becoming White Hall residents, Cloverdale Heights will receive services from the town.
"We'll offer street repair and snow removal for the residents and we'll also take over maintenance on the fire hydrants and if they want we'll install street lighting. It's unanimous, 100 percent of the residents want to come into town which is great, we'll welcome them and we're glad to have them," Ward said.
Residents from Cloverdale Heights said that they are very happy with the decision of council, and that they are glad the town will be taking care of snow removal, which up until now they have had to fund themselves.
