Rahmann Lee (Glenville State), Andrew Faraimo (West Liberty) and Bryan Arbes (West Liberty) have been named Mountain East Conference Players of the Week, the league announced today.
Lee, a sophomore running back from Capitol Heights, Md., accounted for 238 yards of total offense as the Pioneers defeated Fairmont State, 31-14, last Thursday night in the "Battle for the Bit." Lee had 164 yards on 28 carries and a pair of scores on the ground, and then added three catches for 74 yards, including a long catch of 52 yards as GSC picked up its first win of the season.
Rahmann Lee was named Division-II Football Freshman of the Year in 2012.
Fairmont State senior Bri Swann has been named Mountain East Conference Player of the Week after leading the Falcons to three wins in the MEC/PSAC Crossover last weekend.
Swann, a senior from Xenia, Ohio, earns the honor for the second time this season. She recorded a double-double (kills/digs) in each of the four matches and finished the with 69 kills and 67 digs. She notched 23 kills in a five-set win over Slippery Rock and a career-high 28 digs in a five-set win over Edinboro.
The Fairmont State women's volleyball team has began the season with 10 wins as opposed to only two losses. The Lady Falcons will be back on the court on Friday, September 27th. That is also when Fairmont State begins Mountain East Conference play at Virginia Wise.
