The Rack at WVU is having a food drive for the Governor's Day to Serve.
The Rack was implemented in the fall of 2010.
It is a resource for students who are suffering financial difficulty.
The purpose is to make it easy for students to nourish their bodies so they can maintain their focus while studying.
Donating items like canned foods, pastas and rice are helpful but those aren't the only items needed.
"Any household cleaning items, because certainly if students can't eat, they are not buying other items to maintain their households or their apartments, so those items would be very beneficial to us as well," said Jacqueline Dooley, of The Rack.
Donations are accepted throughout the week at the Gaskin House on North High Street or this Friday at the Mountainlair.
