As the 2013-2014 academic year gets underway, Concord University has added five new faculty members: David R. Ball, Annette Y. Brichford, Eva C. Lyon, Laura M. Parker and Kathryn J. Tucker.
Ball joins the faculty as assistant professor of music/director of bands. Ball, who has been teaching at Concord on an adjunct basis, earned a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech. He also holds a master's in music from the University of Manchester, England, and a doctorate from the University of Minnesota.
Brichford is a lecturer in English. A resident of Princeton, she has taught at Concord in the past. She earned both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the University of Utah.
Lyon, a lecturer in geology and physical sciences, comes to Concord from Gallipolis, Ohio. She started teaching at Concord in the spring. She holds a bachelor's degree from The College of Wooster in Ohio and a master's degree from Utah State University.
Parker is an assistant professor of social work. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and received both a master's of social work and her Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Tucker is an assistant professor of special education. Originally from Lubbock, Texas, she holds degrees from Wartburg College, West Texas A & M University and Texas Tech University.
