The Marion County Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Marion County have announced the celebrity judge for its upcoming "Dancing With the Stars" fundraiser.
Former WVU Quarterback Major Harris seems like the perfect fit.
Marion County celebrities have been preparing for several months and Harris said he's excited to see what they can do.
"It gives a lot of people something to look forward to. I mean I know if I was a dancer I would be practicing 24/7 to get ready for it. When you have events like this, you have a lot of people motivated whether its dancing to help raise money," Harris said.
The fundraiser is based off of ABC's show, "Dancing with the Stars", and will be the first annual event for Marion County.
The event begins on Saturday, October 5 with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. followed by the competition.
It will be held in Colebank Hall at Fairmont State University.
Regular citizens from the Marion County community will be paired with their own choreographer and perform one number together.
The voting for "People's Choice" is $5 each and can be done in person or online. Winners of the coveted "People's Choice" award receive their very own "Mirror Ball Trophy".
There is also a special "Judges Choice" Mirror Ball trophy.
