Bridgeport City Council listened to more ideas on Monday evening about how to stop drug use in the community.
Clarksburg police officer Michael Daughtery and powerlifter Jim Compton have developed a program called Community Cares.
The idea is to have buses take students to local businesses after school where they can be taught different trades and learn from successful business leaders.
"The kids, when they are most influential, are in the middle school in the high school years. We have to reach them before they start doing any of these negative activities," said Daughtery.
"The kids, the drug dealers around here, it's not going to last. We're taking our community back one kid at a time," said Compton.
