Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia hosted its annual "Splash Bash" in Morgantown on Sunday.
The pool at Manilla Park went to the dogs.
The event lets the dogs and owners have some fun swimming and playing games, while learning more about Animal Friends and some adoptable animals it has.
The executive director of Animal Friends said this event is more about having fun, rather than raising money.
"This is probably the best event I think that we have all year. Everybody can bring their dogs to come play in a safe environment, in a clean pool, with all their friends that love dogs too. A lot of the dogs that are here today have been adopted from our facility. Everybody can get together and get to see the happy endings," said Cythis Lucas.
In addition to swimming there were contests for the best dog trick, a limbo contest, a swim relay across the pool, and a duck pond for the dogs.
For the owners there were door prizes and raffles.
This was the 12th year for the "dog day at the pool."
