The Marion County Commission said it is always willing to help out a person who is willing to help themselves.
Two Fairmont teenagers have asked the county commission to consider upgrading the city's skate park due to the high amount of traffic it receives every day.
The teenagers said people are coming from Morgantown, Clarksburg, and even as far as Parkersburg to take advantage of the park.
Commission President Randy Elliott said they went over to look at the skate park last week and feel the improvements are necessary.
The teens volunteered to re-paint the park themselves, if the county would provide them paint.
Commissioners said they are willing to help in any way they can.
"We cut the brush around it and a lot of trees where the leaves were getting on the park. We cleaned the place up. We supplied the paint to them that they painted themselves a lot of the different units over there," Commissioner Elliott said. "We are buying two new items that they are going to pick out for the skate park that they can use."
Painting has already started at the skate park.
The commission said it plans to install new lights in the near future, so the kids can skate after dark.
