The end of summer isn't just when students head back to the classroom to learn about math, science, history, and all the other traditional curriculum. But it's a time and opportunity for the community to begin to learn more about music.
The Community Music Program is beginning to take applications starting Monday, Aug. 19 at the Creative Arts Center on the West Virginia University campus.
The program is put on by the WVU School of Music. It gives the opportunity to learn how to not only play an instrument, but learn how to write your own music, or how to introduce young children to the world of music.
Classes are available for all ages. There is also an option to sign up for private lessons on instruments and voice. Students of the program will have the chance to use the WVU facilities and faculty to learn more about music.
Registration Monday, Aug. 19, with the Fall Classes starting Sept. 3. Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 10a.m.- 1p.m. & 2p.m.- 3:30 p.m. Call Karen Tiddle at the office to sign up at 304-293-6946 or call 304-293-SHOW (7469).
