The Upshur County Convention and Visitors Bureau has filed its yearly report with county commission.
The CVB is required to submit a report to the city and county because it receives tax dollars.
It said the state Department of Tourism gave it more than $23,000 in advertising grants this year to promote the county.
"The fact we were awarded $23,400 from the state is just amazing, and we appreciate it and it makes a big difference in what we're able to do in far as advertising," said Laura Meadows, of the Upshur County CVB.
Meadows said the CVB is developing a campaign called "What Small Town Charm is All About."
It's also working with the CVBs in Lewis and Randolph Counties to create Route 33 weekend visitor packages.
