The "Katie Riffle Kick Off Classic" soccer tournament has been held in Marion County for the last decade.
The tournament is in memory of Katie Riffle, who was killed in a car accident 10 years ago.
Many of the participating teams are from Marion County, but teams from all over the state have entered.
There will be teams representing Barbour, Braxton, Preston and Randolph counties.
In the tournament's first year 14 teams were entered, and now it has grown to over 30 teams in last year's tournament.
Every team that participates is guaranteed three games and every player receives a T-shirt.
The Marion County Commission has given Katie's family $1,000 toward the tournament.
The money will go toward the tye-dyed T-shirts, trophies, and items for the concession stand.
First place and second place teams will receive trophies, and a "sportsmanship" award will be presented to one team.
The event will bring many people to the area as the players and their families will frequent local hotels as well as restaurants over the weekend. They will also use the gas stations and convenient stores for quick purchases of ice, drinks and snacks.
This year's event will be held on the fourth weekend of August.
