The Jackson's Mill Jubilee is coming up on August 31st, but the preparations are underway already.
The inaugural prince and princess beauty pageant was held on Saturday for the jubilee.
Nine contestants took the stage and they were between the ages of four and 13.
Princes and princesses were crowned in every age group, and a King and Queen were crowned too.
All of the proceeds from the pageant will go to help the community.
"The Jane Lew Community Center has been in operation since 1960. We're a tax free organization. We provide a facility; we have birthday parties there, anniversary parties, family reunions. The money from this will go toward upgrading the kitchen at the community center," said Bill White, with the Jane Lew Community Center.
White said everyone in the area will benefit from the upgrades, since such a wide range of people use the facility.
Cameron Weaver won king at the pageant, and his sister Samantha Weaver was crowned queen.
White said this pageant will become an annual event.
All of the contestants will be at the Jackson's Mill Jubilee.
The jubilee is August 31st to September 3rd.
Some of the events at the jubilee include an art show, folk dancing, historical encampments, fire truck rides, and a fair.
