On July 30, the Randolph County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney dismissed Timothy Hedrick's one count of child neglect creating risk of injury without prejudice, according to court filings.
The Randolph County Sheriff's Office arrested a Dailey man on a child neglect charge.
Timothy Wayne Hedrick, 28, was arrested and charged with one count of child neglect creating risk of injury.
In May of 2013, a Child Protective Services worker contacted the sheriff's department about a 6-year-old boy who reported that he smoked marijuana with Hedrick. The boy also said that his 4-year-old sister also smoked marijuana with them, according to the criminal complaint.
After verifying the information with the boy, the sheriff's department served a search warrant at a motel in Elkins on May 22, 2013. At the residence, sheriff's deputies found the 4-year-old girl, as well as an 11-month-old child. According to the criminal complaint, the 4-year-old girl confirmed that Hedrick forced her and her 6-year-old brother to smoke marijuana.
Hedrick is currently in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail with bail set at $25,000.
