The third annual County Roads Cook-off was held Sunday at the Bridgeport Farmers Market.
The cook-off featured home cooks who make one dish, using local foods.
Teams could choose to make an appetizer, salad, entrée, or dessert.
The dish was then tasted by three judges and the public, who got to choose the people's choice winner.
The cook-off brings a large crowd to the farmers market every year, which is beneficial to the market.
"A lot of those people have never been to the market before, so they come to see their cousin or their friend cooking, and to cast their ballot for the people's choice award. We hear, 'wow I'll be back next week!' So it just increases sales," said Debbie Workman, who is on the Bridgeport Farmers Market Board of Directors.
The winner of the cook-off received a weekend at the Greenbrier in January, and a spot on the Bridgeport Conference Center's Cast Iron Cook-Off team.

Workman said the Bridgeport Farmers Market plans on hosting the Country Roads Cook-off again next year.
The Bridgeport Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Charles Pointe.
