High School students arrived at West Virginia University on Sunday to attend the "Build WV Summer Camp".
Students will have the opportunity to develop creativity and design skills at the week-long camp. The program is open to all high school students.
The Division of Design and Merchandising in the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design is hosting the event.
The camp is also pairing with Adventure West Virginia to offer outdoor peer-bonding activities.
There is a four day scavenger hunt that will be all across the campus. Staff said it aims to help students get familiar with the elements and principles of design.
The students will learn about the use of photography, sketching, painting, collage and computer design skills that are used in design careers and other design-related professions.
The students will also learn about careers in interior design, fashion design, and merchandising.
The cost of the camp is $475 per student.
They will stay on the campus in the student dorms and will be provided with meals and art supplies.
The camp will run until Thursday, August 1 and has many different activities planned on and off the campus.
