The new logo and tag line for West Virginia Wesleyan College that were revealed at a press conference Wednesday morning are really a team effort. Both are the result of months of meetings and brainstorming to find ways to better promote the college. Wesleyan employee and alumna Katie Loudin came up with the new tag line, "find your voice." It's an idea she said she experienced while studying there.
"It really came from the experience my husband and I had at Wesleyan. We were both able to find our identities, who we are, and what we wanted to be in the future," Loudin said.
As part of the presentation, the study group took people through past logos before revealing the new image. Two W's sit above the mountains surrounding the campus, which are a part of the culture the school is proud of.
"We decided we wanted to unify that imagery and rally around something to say 'this is what we are' and very proudly 'this is what's going on at West Virginia Wesleyan," said director of Admissions John Waltz.
Loudin said she's happy the campus thought highly of her suggestion, and said the new graphics and tag line will do well to show off the school to the rest of the world.
"I think this just really reaffirms who we are at an institution, something that alums intrinsically know about how great this place is, and I just think it's really cool for all of us to come to a collective realization about it," Loudin said.
