More than 100 people came out to Downtown Clarksburg Saturday morning for the 15th Annual West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival 5K Run.
All of the proceeds from the event go straight to the festival, which will take place August 30th-31st and September first in Clarksburg.
Organizers said participation numbers and the amount of enthusiasm gets bigger every year.
They said they are even seeing more kids take part in the event.
Tyler Terango said Italians are a lot like Americans in the way they are proud of their heritage.
"I think it's important that we remember our heritage no matter if your Italian or Irish or whatever it may be," he said. "That's a way that our festival not only allows us to celebrate our Italian heritage, but it allows everyone to celebrate their heritage."
