Government officials in Lewis County are looking forward to having a permanent judge back on their bench.
Kurt Hall will replace senior status judge John Henning as judge in the 26th Circuit Court, which includes Lewis and Upshur Counties.
Hall lives in Jane Lew with his family and has worked with many Lewis County officials in the past.
They said they're glad to finally know who they'll be working with in the future.
"He's a very experience prosecutor, and he's been very successful at it handling big cases in Harrison County, and that's the bulk of what the judge ha to deal with," said Michael Smith, Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney.
"He's a very hard worker. He's always been dedicated. Working with him in the past, every time we've ever had a question he's always returned his calls, which is a plus. People who don't know him need to get to know him," said Rob Clem, Lewis County Magistrate.
Hall's appointment took effect immediately after the Governor announced them Thursday afternoon.
