Rain Delays Little League State Tournament Again

Posted: Updated:

Wednesday Bridgeport and Fairmont 9 and 10-year-old Little League all stars expected to continue chasing the state title.

For the second night in a row mother nature had other plans.

Bridgeport sent two batters to the plate before lightening, and then eventually rain postponed the night's games.

It was the similar story Tuesday night when the teams when primarily lightening delayed the action.

The tournament will continue Thursday.

Bridgeport will play Moorefield at noon. Games are being moved up incase of inclement weather. Fairmont will play Hedgesville at 3 p.m.

Eight teams remain in the tournament that started Saturday.

If little league officials approve, the championship game could be played as the second part of a double header Friday. Coaches said that Little League rules prohibit teams from playing two games a day during tournament play.
