A local city council has decided to have a local engineering firm fill two positions.
The Weston City Council will ask Thrasher Engineering to fill the roles of building inspector and code enforcement officer.
City Manager Michelle Allen said hiring a firm to do the work makes fiscal sense for the city and that residents won't see much difference when the changes are made.
"Actually, it really won't be a big change. I think with the additional person that they will have more time to drive around the city and see what's going on," said Allen.
John Hogan, who resigned from those two positions, will stay with the city as the head of its street department.
