Treatment for cancer can be as tough as the disease itself.
The American Cancer Society's Look Good Feel Better program improves how female cancer patients look and how they feel about themselves.
United Hospital Center Monday hosted the program that teaches women how to apply makeup and style their hair.
"They're self confidence is amazing at that point. Some of them don't wear makeup, but when they come out and they have blush on so they aren't so pale looking. Things like that, it just really helps their self-confidence," said Peggy Johnson, clinical navigator for breast health at UHC.
UHC will host the program again on Monday, September 9.
