The Lewis County Economic Development Authority is looking to provide more support for a new development project.
In its regular meeting Monday, the county commission approved an application for a state grant to support the new Jane Lew Industrial Park.
The grant would provide $150,000 in matched funds from the state, and could include up to $400,000 more.
Lewis County Commissioner, Agnes Queen said every added business that comes to the county is a great benefit.
"Anytime you have additional infrastructure, new businesses locating in, it helps local people get jobs and employment, it helps the tax base, it makes people move to the community," Queen said.
The commission is also making final preparations to open the new county courthouse annex. It's expected to open for business in August.
