A local author signed books Saturday at the Barnes and Noble in Granville.
Caroline Peluso Atkins went to debut her book "Living Life the West Virginia Way."
Atkins is also a professor at WVU where she teaches public speaking. One of her classes is geared toward athletes and allows them to speak to middle school and high school students.
Atkins said she wanted to reach out to even younger crowds with a book that focuses on ideas that are important to her.
"I decided to write my own book that we can take out and read," said Atkins. "And it's really divided into three areas. The first part is about the state West Virginia, and the second part is the importance of attending a university and features both Marshall and WVU. And the last part is about character education."
The book can be purchased at Barnes and Noble stores and online.
