A new study says construction projects at WVU are pumping more than $1 billion into the region's economy.
WVU has about 20 construction sites ranging from a $225 million healthcare expansion to re-paving side walks and creating parking.
"The University will spend money. They'll pay their contractors and then their contractors will pay their workers and they'll have to buy supplies and other things," said Eric Bowen, a WVU Economist. "What happens then, is each of those people then buys things."
The projects are not only bringing money to the region. The construction created more than 7,000 jobs.
