Fairmont State University students will pay more in tuition this fall.
The Higher Education Policy Commission approved the increase this week.
FSU said it's concerned about making higher education available to everyone, which is why it didn't increase tuition last year.
It released this statement:
"The 8.94 percent cut to the University's budget by the Legislature this year caused tuition to be slightly increased by $254. Even with that, Fairmont State remains the 3rd lowest for undergraduates in-state."
