Some good economic news for Lewis County:
After the month of May, the county has one of the five lowest unemployment rates across the state.
Seasonal employment has provided more jobs, and strong support from the oil and gas industry has helped the county keep that unemployed number down.
County economic development director Mike Herron said it's a trend that can be seen across the region.
"When you look at Upshur, Lewis, Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, there's a real solid core of new business development," said Herron.
He said he hopes to see more jobs filled, and more people coming to the area when the new Jane Lew Industrial Park opens.
