WV HEPC approves Concord interim president's contract

Posted: Updated:

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission on June 25 approved the selection of Kendra Boggess as interim president of Concord University.

Boggess was initially selected as interim president in May. She succeeds Greg Aloia, who stepped down to accept the position of president of College of Coastal Georgia. Both Boggess and Aloia will assume their new duties effective July 1.

Boggess will become the university's first female president. She currently serves as Concord's interim vice president and academic dean. She brings with her nearly 30 years of service in academics and administration, having served on many national, state, institutional and divisional committees, and she is an active member of the local business and civic community.

"Concord will continue the momentum that has been building for growth and service to the region during the next academic year," Boggess said. "A key component of planning for the next year is the continuation of support for students, staff and faculty in their many endeavors. I am committed as well to meeting with alumni, benefactors, members of the business community and friends of the university."

Boggess joined Concord's faculty in 1984.
