Volunteers were out supporting local charities Friday morning.
Friday is the annual Day of Action for the United Way of Harrison County.
Volunteers helped a dozen United Way agencies, like the Central West Virginia Community Action Agency, with various projects across the county.
The agencies said volunteers like these can be invaluable.
"When community members can come in and provide a few hours, it's just an outstanding service to us. And I think for the donors, it helps them see where their money is going, so it's an opportunity for us to also talk to those donors about what we do," said CWVCAA's Shannon Cunningham.
